We are busy teaching at DeCordova this summer. We will resume our classes in the Fall.

Paint & Clay: 4- 6 Year Olds
Have fun exploring with paint, pastel, collage and clay!
Children will be given general guidelines and taught basic techniques,
then encouraged to express their vivid imaginations. Limit 8.
Monday, 1 - 2:30pm
$65 (4 weeks) includes materials.
Teachers: Donna Melanson & Mary Morazzi Henderson

Paint & Clay: Grades 1 - 4
Learn fundamental painting and ceramic techniques to create 2D and 3D works of art.
All projects will share a common theme. For example, the students might
work from a still life to form a sculpture in clay, then again to produce a painting.
All clay work will be kiln fired. Limit 8.
Monday, 4:00 - 5:30pm
$65 (4 weeks) includes materials.

Ceramics: Grades 2 - 5
The students will learn different hand building techniques
and be encouraged to design their own projects.
Students will develop and strengthen their skills while focusing on their
individual creative expression. All work will be kiln fired. Limit 6.
Wednesday, 4:00 - 5:30pm
$85 (5 weeks) includes materials and firing fees.

Drawing & Painting: Grades 3 - 6
Learn foundation skills (light/shadow, perspective, composition and balance)
using a variety of medium. We will work from still life, photographs and
imagination. Individual style and expression will be encouraged.
Critiques will help bring out the best in each child's work. Limit 6.
Thursday, 4:00 - 5:30pm
$75 (5 weeks) includes materials.

Silk Painting: All Ages
Create a colorful silk scarf with your own
hand drawn designs in colors that you love. Limit 4.
Saturday 10 - 2 (bring lunch)
$45, includes materials.

Needle Felting: Grades 4 through Adult
Learn the fundamentals of needle felting while creating a 3D sculpture or
' painting' a 2D picture using natural and dyed sheep wool. Limit 6.
Thursday, 4 - 5:30pm
$40 (2 weeks), includes materials.
Teacher: Laura Burke

Ceramics, Hand Building: Adults
Do something fun for yourself! Come and learn basic hand building and
glazing techniques to make pottery that works in your home or will make a great gift.
Designing projects to fit your style will be encouraged. All work will be kiln fired. Limit 4.
Thursday, 9:30 am - 12 pm
$100 plus clay & firing fee (4 weeks).

DESIGN YOUR OWN CLASS

Sometimes our class schedule doesn't work with yours…
How about designing a class to fit your needs and your schedule?
Your class could meet any day, any time, and run for any duration.
All ages are welcome!

Here's what you need to do:
Contact us with your idea and available dates.
Organize your group.
Get back to us with the number of students.
Have each student fill out a Registration form and send it in with their payment.

Some Suggestions:
An evening with a group of your friends
A Saturday, After School, Early Release, or Vacation week class
Something for the family
For your club (4H, scouts, youth group, etc)
Home Schooled children, with or without parents
Something for your preschooler (with a Parent/Grandparent or other children)
Private lessons for you, your child or your grandchild

Some Class Ideas:
Drawing and/or Painting
Ceramics/Hand building
Ceramics/Wheel throwing (private only)
Machine Sewing (private only)
Needle Felting
Silk Painting
Our Fee's: Private: $20 per hour
Semi Private (2 students): $15 per student/per hour
Group (3 or more students): $10 per student/per hour
Some classes require an additional materials fee
